Yes. The default path processes supported images locally in the browser. An API upload requires separate, explicit consent.
Local mode is the privacy-preserving default.

What does it mean when no Content Credentials are found?
No parseable C2PA manifest was found. This does not establish whether the file is authentic or modified, and it does not show whether AI was used.
The status describes only the technical finding for the inspected file.
Which metadata does the Privacy Metadata Cleaner remove?
The cleaner locally re-encodes the image and then checks whether supported EXIF, IPTC and XMP fields were removed. The original file remains unchanged.
Keep the source separately when rights or provenance information may be needed later.
Do I have to use an EU icon in the Disclosure Generator?
No. The EU icons are optional templates and already contain the visible label. In the generator, choose either an official EU icon or a text disclosure. You can still use your own logo together with custom text.
Choose the motif, variant and placement for the actual publication format. No background or additional text is added to an EU icon.
When is a file transferred to a server?
Never automatically in the standalone build. An enabled server function must be shown clearly and requires explicit confirmation before each transfer.
When the central ContentSignal integration is disabled, no server adapters or workspace handoffs are rendered.
Which image formats does the disclosure generator support?
The generator processes JPEG, PNG and WebP images up to 25 MB locally in the browser. Other formats are rejected before editing.
A safety limit of 40 megapixels or 16,384 pixels per image edge also applies.
Are the image dimensions and original file retained during export?
The original file remains unchanged. The new export retains the decoded image dimensions and is then re-inspected locally for format, size and changed disclosure pixels.
Depending on the selected metadata policy, supported metadata is preserved, cleaned or supplemented with a disclosure field.
